Meet Your Network: Group Insights That Members Can Explore

· By The Soorse Team

Who is part of your group? What companies do they work for? Where do they live? And how does participation in your community translate into support for your organization?

A member count answers only the first part of that story. Soorse Network Highlights help you see more of it, bringing your group's people, activity, and contributions together in one place. Each highlight is clickable, so members and admins can move from a number to a useful next step.

See the companies represented, then find the people who work there. Notice new members, then welcome them. See support raised through Soorse, then explore which sources contributed to it.

From a highlight to a connection

Your group's directory has more stories to tell.

Imagine opening Companies Represented, selecting a company you recognize, and discovering that someone in your group already works there. That is a more useful starting point for a conversation than a company count alone.

A clearer picture for group admins

Admins put time into bringing people together. Network Highlights make it easier to see the shape of that community and decide where to put attention next.

  • Welcome people sooner. Open New Members This Month to see active members who joined during the current calendar month. Use it as a starting point for personal welcomes and introductions.
  • Plan around your members. Browse the companies, industries, and cities represented in your group. Those views can help you think about relevant event topics, potential speakers, local gatherings, or professional interests to explore.
  • Find your group's activity. Events Hosted, Jobs Posted, and Conversations lead to the group's events, job board, and discussions. It is a convenient way to see what members can participate in.
  • Understand sources of support. When monetization is enabled, Raised Through Soorse opens an aggregate contribution view with a bar chart and totals by source.

These views give you context for your next decision. If you are considering a meetup in another city, look at the members there first. If you want to welcome newcomers, start with this month's list. If members ask how Soorse supports the organization, the contribution breakdown gives you a clear place to begin that conversation.

A network members can actually explore

Members benefit from seeing the community around them, too. A group can contain years of experience, local knowledge, and professional connections that are easy to miss in a long list of names.

Network Highlights offer a few different doors into that directory:

  • Companies Represented: browse companies, select one, and see the group members associated with it through their primary professional profiles.
  • Industries Represented: discover the sectors in your network and meet members whose primary professional profiles list that industry.
  • Cities Represented: explore a searchable city list, then find the group members whose profiles list that city.
  • New Members This Month: find the newest faces and give them a reason to feel welcome.
  • Soorse Plus Members: browse a dedicated directory view of the group's Plus members.

The member views use familiar directory cards, search, and pagination, with layouts made for phones as well as larger screens. Members can open a profile, connect, or use visible contact details to reach out. Existing contact visibility settings still apply.

See where support comes from, without exposing who paid what

The Raised Through Soorse view gives members and admins a shared overview of support recorded for the group. Its horizontal bar chart makes the different sources easy to compare: Soorse Plus, donations, job postings, paid subgroup memberships, featured members, and Community Partners.

The page shows category totals, including applicable group revenue shares, using the same accounting as the group's contribution dashboard. It does not show individual donors, member payment amounts, or transaction details. That makes it useful for understanding the overall picture while keeping personal contributions private.

Know what the highlights tell you

Active Members refers to active group memberships, rather than a count of people who logged in today. Member Connections counts accepted connections between current active group members. Those connections may have started before either person joined the group; the count does not claim that the group created every connection. Both tiles open the group directory so you can meet the people behind the network.

Highlights reflect the group you are viewing. The detailed views are available to members with group access and authorized group managers, so making the network easier to explore does not make the member directory public.

Start with one useful discovery

Open your group page and look for Network Highlights. Select a tile, or use Show more to explore the additional highlights. Try a company, a city, or this month's new members, and see where that first click takes you.

For a chamber, that might mean finding another member at a local business. For an alumni group, it could mean discovering graduates in a city you are moving to. For an association or nonprofit, it might be a welcome message to someone who just joined. A little more visibility can give people a much better place to start.
